Krishna blessed Shani Dev at Kokilavan, Vrindavan
Devotees thronged the Shani Dev Temple in Kokila Van in Vrindavan on the occasion of Shani Dev Jayanti. The temple prepared a grand phool bangla or flower castle for the deity and the Mahant of the temple, Premdas Maharaj did the abhishek at night and the maha aarti the next morning. Many devotees, visiting from various parts of the country also performed special rituals to please Shani Dev.
Apparently, the Shani Dev Temple at Kokila Van is the only temple dedicated to Lord Shani Dev where the aarti is performed right in front of the deity. The temple is very old and powerful and many people are known to have been eased from their pain after their visit here. This is why it is considered to be an important temple in Northern India.
It is said that Shani Dev came to Vrindavan because of the mercy shown to him by Lord Krishna. Hence, when people visit this temple, they receive the dual blessings of Lord Krishna as well as Lord Shani Dev.

Chief Development Officer of Mathura visited the Panchayati Gaushala
The Chief Development Officer of Mathura, Shri Manish Kumar Verma, visited the Panchayati Gaushala recently. The Panchayati Gaushala happens to be one of the oldest gaushalas of Vrindavan. The gaushala has a cow hospital as well and this impressed him. While he was touring the gaushala, Shri Radha Krishna Pathak, the secretary of the gaushala, Shri Champa Lal Bhuwalka, the joint secretary and Jagannath Poddar, the advisor to the gaushala also joined him.
The gaushala is doing a remarkable job by housing the old and sick cows who are abandoned by their owners when they stop lactating. As of date, there are about 1500 indigenous cows of different breeds that have received shelter at the gaushala. They also grow organic green fodder on fertile land. This is brought to the gaushala everyday in trucks and fed to the cows. In future, they plan to provide the fodder to other gaushalas as well.
Mr. Bhuwalka said that the dream is to make the gaushala self sustainable. They are working towards having a bio gas plant installed which will produce vermi compost organic manure and pesticides made of cow urine. All they need is a little government support. The chief development officer assured them that all the help possible will be provided from the District Agriculture Department and the District Administration.
Prasad visits widows of Vrindavan Ashram to issue Aadhaar
Telecom Minsiter, Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad visited the widows of Vrindavan. He made this trip to an ashram to issue aadhar numbers to them. According to him, this is a ‘high watermark’ of digital India. Till date, only 15.2 crore aadhar numbers have been generated in Uttar Pradesh. This is 72% of the population the mentioned state, according to the numbers recorded in the year of 2015.
As for Mathura district, 18.44 lakh aadhar numbers have been generated. This is 68.5% of the total population of that area. Mr. Prasad is of the opinion that the aadhar system is a very good way in which the underprivileged and the poor can be incorporated into digital India. The widows he visited will have a digital identity now and will be able to enjoy benefits of public distribution scheme, Jan Dhan Yojana and others.
The minister also said that the government is also working on a mobile application that will give access to people of over 1000 services from the Centre and state governments. This application is set to be launched by December 2016.
