The Gateway to Vaikuntha opens in the holy land of Vrindavan

Hundreds of devotees stepped through the Vaikuntha Dwar in the Rangaji Mandir in Vrindavan. The Vaikuntha Dwar, resembling the gateway to Vaikunth, the abode of Lord Vishnu, opens once in a year on the occasion of Vaikuntha Ekadashi. On this day the Vaikunth Dwar is kept open for the spiritual aspirants who want to please Lord Vishnu. It is believed that on this day if you step through the Vaikunth Dwar, then you attain the affection of Lord Vishnu.

Devotees thronged the temple from early in the morning to catch a glimpse of their Lord stepping out of the Vaikunth Dwar. The day was celebrated with great pomp and grandeur in the city of Vrindavan. Thakur Ranganathji stepped out from his sanctum sanctorum using the Vaikuntha Dwar and gave darshan to the devotees. A special ceremony was performed in which the deity was placed on a palanquin and carried around the temple.
