Governor, Anandi Ben, visits Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan
After Ram Naik, Anandi Ben Patel took over the position of Governor of Uttar Pradesh on the 20 th of July. Last Wednesday, 28 th August, she made time in her schedule to visit the famous Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, to pray for everyone’s well being. The sevayat of the temple, Shri Ghyansham Goswami, greeted her with Thakurji’s prasadi mala and dupatta. He also told her about some of the important leelas of the Lord, the traditions of the temple and the greatness of Bihariji.
She was then taken to the garba griha, where the idol is housed, and she sat there and looked intently at the Lord for a while, perhaps contemplating the immense responsibilities that she had just taken on. She visited the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi as well. There she was greeted by Kapil Sharma, Shri Gopeshwar Chaturvedi and Dr Chandrabhan Gupta, all important office bearers of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Seva Sansthan.
Here, in the garba griha, she put tulsi leaves and majari at the feet of Lord Krishna and the priest did a special puja for her with vedic mantras and pushpanjali. The temple management also gifted her with a statue of Radha and Krishna.
