22 projects that will boost the tourism of Braj have been cleared
To boost pilgrimage tourism in the Braj area in Uttar Pradesh, The Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad has given the go-ahead to 22 projects, for which proposals had been submitted. Development of Gokul, Barsana, Nandgaon, Vrindavan and Mathura are expected to happen first. Jalesar, Agra, Hathras, Aligarh, Etah, Manipuri and Farukkabadi districts will be looked at after that. Projects in hand right now include construction of a new ghat in Gokul and renovation of the Holi Chabutara.
Brambhand Ghat in Gokul will also be beautified, along with other ghats in the Chintaharan Mahadeo Mahaban area. For Nandgaon, tourist facilitation centres, public toilet blocks and beautification of roads has been scheduled. In Kosi Kokilavan Road and Kokilavan Parikrama Road, solar lights will be put, because these are the roads availed by the pilgrims to travel to the Shani Mandir in town. These, along with many other facelifts, is expected to boost not only the national tourism of the area, but the international tourism too.
