Central Government employees of Mathura & Vrindavan received a very special Holi gift this year

Recently, Mathura and Vrindavan were upgraded to category Y from category Z because of the rapidly increasing population. Following this, the HRA or House Rent Allowance of the employees was doubled. Hence, according to certain clauses, the HRA of the employees based in these two cities was revised.  Category Z city employees receive 8% of their salary as HRA while category Y city employees receive 16% of their salary as HRA.
