Krishna’s land reverberated with the chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole’

The Lord Shiva temples of Braj Bhumi reverberated with chants of ‘bam bam bhole’ and ‘har har mahadev’ as devotees thronged the temples in huge numbers. The first Monday of Shravan- notedly the holy month of Lord Shiva, experienced massive footfalls inspite of a very tight security. Notedly – Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple, Bakhandi Temple, Kameshwar Temple, Nandishwar Temple, Bhuteshwar temple, Rangeshwar Temple and Chakleshwar Temple received offerings from across the country.

The first Monday of Shravan is considered auspicious by the devotees of Lord Shiva and thousands of them were seen outside these temples, queuing up to offer ‘bilva patra’ and milk to the Lord. Apart from this, honey, sandalwood paste and leaves of wood apple were offered to the Shiva lingas in the temples. Elaborate arrangements were made in order to make sure that the devotees did not suffer any inconveniences.
